Today I started fasted cardio…..
The first time I heard about it was in Houston last summer. Honestly, I thought it was a stupid concept. I mean at the end of the day, calories burned are calories burned.
Well I decided to give it a try starting today. I have no real clue IF it will do anything, but I’m willing to give it a shot…..
Since I’m doing fasted cardio, this completely tweaks my workout schedule, this I’m not convinced this a bad thing.
So now instead of waking up, drinking a protein shake, lifting then cardio….I’ll wake up, take my BP reading, go to the gym, do my 1.5 hours of cardio, drink a protein shake (at the gym) then lift…..the only major difference I noticed today, granted it’s just day one, is that I had much less energy for cardio and even lifting. Oh well, I’m doing this for one month to see what it does in my body. I am 64 lbs away from my goal of 157. I know that we have to trick our bodies every now and then to get them losing again. So I’m giving this a whirl…….The biggest thing I’m learning in this whole journey is that our bodies are a science experiment. I know that when I eat sugar, in a moderate to massive quality, I gain. I learned this the hard way while vacationing in Michigan for Christmas.
So here I am….
The first of January and I’m fighting to lose the 2,6 lbs. I gained in Michigan. We won’t be back home until Monday so I’m hoping to get back to the 218 I weighed in at before we left…..If that means fasted cardio, then so be it J
